Toorak Apartment has been featured in The Local Project, recognising ALESI Group’s considered transformation of an existing inner-city residence in Melbourne’s Toorak.
The project is defined by restraint, proportion and materiality, with ALESI approaching the existing apartment as an opportunity to create something more architectural, refined and enduring. A polished neutral palette is layered with warm timber, natural stone and precise detailing to create interiors that feel calm, balanced and deeply resolved.
The Feature
The feature highlights ALESI Group’s considered approach to reworking the existing apartment through craftsmanship and a disciplined use of material.
At the heart of the residence, the kitchen introduces a striking green stone benchtop and splashback, bringing depth and character against the more restrained surrounding palette. Crisp joinery, integrated detailing and carefully considered proportions allow the space to feel sculptural while remaining functional and understated.
Throughout the living and dining spaces, herringbone timber flooring brings warmth and rhythm, while traditional proportions and ceiling detailing are retained and refined. Natural light moves across the muted finishes, allowing texture, shadow and materiality to become central to the experience of the apartment.
Following ALESI Group’s feature of Ormond Residence, the Toorak Apartment marks another recognition by The Local Project of the studio’s approach to high-end residential construction, where precision, restraint and enduring craftsmanship shape the final outcome.
