Ormond Residence

Ormond Residence is a considered restoration and extension of a heritage Californian bungalow in Melbourne’s south-east. Balancing original character with contemporary family living, the home retains its heritage frontage while introducing a refined rear extension, new upper level and generous living spaces oriented toward the garden and pool.

Our Detail

Set within a quiet, tree-lined street in Melbourne’s south-east, Ormond Residence is a considered restoration and extension of a heritage Californian bungalow, reimagined for contemporary family living.

Respecting the original character of the home, ALESI Group retained the integrity and proportion of the existing facade, allowing the heritage frontage to remain a defining part of the residence’s identity. Beyond this, the home opens into a refined contemporary extension, where scale, light and flow have been carefully introduced without overwhelming the original architecture.

The rear addition and new upper level create a generous family home shaped around connection, comfort and everyday function. Living spaces unfold toward the garden and pool, drawing natural light deep into the interior and creating a calm transition between old and new. A sculptural staircase forms a central architectural gesture, bringing movement and softness to the home while connecting each level with clarity and purpose.

Our Craft

Materiality is restrained and enduring, with a refined palette of timber, stone and tonal finishes used throughout. Each detail has been considered to create a sense of cohesion, warmth and longevity, allowing texture, proportion and natural light to take precedence over ornament.

Designed, built and delivered with precision, Ormond Residence reflects ALESI Group’s commitment to craftsmanship, considered construction and high-end residential outcomes. The result is a home that honours its past while confidently supporting the needs of modern family life.
